The Venus of Turin comes from the collection of Riccardo Gualino and it has been part of the Sabauda Gallery collection since 1930. It is a work of art that Botticelli painted in collaboration with his followers and inspired by the goddess and her myth. He painted the subject in the same period of the famous “Birth of Venus” of the Uffizi Galleries and two other similar Venuses: today one at the Gemäldegalerie, Berlin and one in a private Swiss collection.
