The Madonna of the Goldfinch is a Raffaello oil painting on panel…

The Madonna of the Goldfinch is a Raffaello oil painting on panel (107×77 cm), dating back to 1506 and housed at the Uffizi Gallery in #Florence. Immersed in a vast river landscape, the Virgin is sitting on a rock holding child Jesus, while child Saint John, embraced by the Virgin, is on the left. The two children play with a goldfinch that symbolise the Passion of Christ. Raffaello made a representation of kindness and love visible in the elegant moves, the delicate proportions, the gentle faces, reaching a formal balance and a beauty ideal that certifies the achievement of his stylistic maturity.
